Volunteer

Here at The Open Arms Home for Children, we believe it is a community’s moral responsibility to be aware of and care for local children who, for no fault of their own, are affected by abuse and neglect. Your willingness to play a vital role in this effort is invaluable.

Volunteers are vital to our organization. All volunteers receive a thorough background check and participate in our Open Arms Child Advocacy Orientation Program. This program clearly lays out our expectations of our volunteers and provides each volunteer with a clear understanding of our organizational goals, policies and procedures.

Once a volunteer becomes an official Open Arms Child Advocate, he or she will then be able to actively participate in any and all Open Arms fundraisers, events, facility and enrichment programs.

The Open Arms Home for Children has many volunteer opportunities throughout the year. Being a volunteer is a very important and rewarding role. Volunteer positions are divided into direct contact with the children, program support, special events and maintenance/repair. If you are interested in learning more about becoming a volunteer, please contact our Executive Director, Mike Rutan, at mikerutan@oahome.org or by calling 706-632-2029.
